Nach einer Reise von 14 Stunden über Abu Dhabi erreichten wir gestern Nachmittag Kathmandu. Heute haben wir die letzten Einkäufe getätigt und am späteren Nachmittag bekommen wir die letzten Informationen für unsere Expedition zum Makalu.
Da das Gepäck nun per Helikopter ins Basecamp transportiert werden soll, muss nochmal schnell alles umgepackt werden. Im Hotel gibt es sogar Käse und weitere für diese Gegend ungewohnte Annehmlichkeiten. Noch ein paar Daunenschuhe fürs Basecamp gekauft, damit die Füsse schon warm bleiben und vermutlich zum letzten Mal eine feine "richtige Pizza" gegessen.
Schon morgen um 10.30 Uhr geht es mit dem Inlandflug nach Tumlingtar weiter und dann beginnt die Akklimatisierung mit mehreren Tagen Trekking.

After a 14 hour journey via Abu Dhabi we reached Kathmandu yesterday afternoon. Today we went out to get the last couple bits and bobs and in the afternoon we'll be receiving the last Information for our Expedition to the Makalu.
As the bagagge is beeing transported to the basecamp by helicopter, everything has to be repackaged and made ready for airtransport. At the hotel we even get cheese as also other conveniences that are quite uncommon in this part of the world.
Bought a pair of down feather shoes for basecamp lounging and that the feet stay nicely warm, while we get a "real pizza" probably for the last time in a good while.
Tomorrow at 10.30 we'll be flying to Tumlingtar on an domestic flight, where we'll start the acclimatization with a couple days of trekking.
